Chicken Merge runs on the same core loop as the wider "merge" genre, two identical items combined become one better item, but applies it to a farm full of chicken breeds instead of numbers or fruit, so the payoff for a good merge chain is a rarer bird rather than a bigger digit.

Because board space is limited, merging low-tier chickens the instant you have a matching pair usually beats letting the board fill up while you wait for a "perfect" combo, a cluttered board blocks new chickens from spawning at all. Resources earned from merges fund farm upgrades that increase how many chickens can spawn at once, so reinvesting early rather than hoarding tends to snowball into faster breed discovery later. Fruit Merge runs the same merging math in its more traditional fruit-stacking form.
