Clicker Heroes

Clicker Heroes treats your own clicking as just the starting engine of a much bigger machine: every hero recruited fights on their own once hired, and the real game becomes deciding which hero's damage-per-second is worth the gold over the next upgrade tier.

Early progress rewards clicking directly since your own damage output rivals your first few heroes, but that balance flips hard once idle damage from a full roster outpaces anything manual clicking can add, at which point checking in periodically to reinvest gold beats sitting and clicking. Ascending, resetting progress for a permanent multiplier, is usually worth doing well before you feel fully stuck, since the long-term gain from the bonus outweighs a few more levels squeezed out of a slowing run.
