Getting Over It
How to Play Getting Over It ?
Getting Over It Unblocked gives you a man sitting in a metal pot, a sledgehammer, and a mountain built out of furniture, pipes and rubble. There is no jump button and no checkpoint - you drag yourself upward with the hammer, and a single bad swing can drop you back to the beginning.
What Is Getting Over It?
Getting Over It is the climbing game that made falling famous. Bennett Foddy built the original in 2017 as a deliberate exercise in frustration: progress is slow, the physics are unforgiving, and everything you have gained can vanish in one second of carelessness. This page runs a browser remake of that game, made in Scratch and packaged to run in any modern browser - the mountain, the pot and the hammer are all here, and it is free rather than a paid download.
What keeps people climbing is that nothing is random. Every fall is your own doing, which means every metre you regain is proof you actually got better at swinging the hammer.
How to Play Getting Over It
Controls
- Move the mouse - the hammer follows your cursor; that is the entire control scheme
- Push off by planting the hammer head against the ground and sweeping it behind you
- Hook and pull by catching an edge with the hammer head and dragging the pot up after it
No keyboard, no buttons, no jump. Everything - hopping, climbing, vaulting over a ledge - comes out of how fast and how far you move the cursor, which is why the game feels impossible for the first twenty minutes and then suddenly does not.
Tips to Climb Higher
- Slow down. Almost every catastrophic fall comes from a fast, panicked swing. The hammer does what your cursor does, so a calm hand climbs faster than a quick one.
- Plant before you pull. Make sure the hammer head is actually against something solid before you sweep - swinging at air is what sends the pot sliding backwards.
- Use small hops on flat ground. Short, repeated pushes are far more controllable than one huge launch.
- Learn one obstacle at a time. Treat the snake, the furniture pile and the orange slide as separate puzzles rather than one climb.
- Expect to fall. Losing height is part of the design, not a mistake - the players who finish are simply the ones who did not close the tab.

Getting Over It FAQ
Is Getting Over It free to play here?
Yes. This browser version runs free on this page - the original is a paid game on Steam and mobile, but nothing here needs buying or downloading.
Can I play Getting Over It at school or on a Chromebook?
Getting Over It unblocked is hosted here rather than on a separate games portal, so it usually loads on school and work networks and runs in Chrome on a Chromebook. Check your own school or company rules first.
What are the controls?
Just the mouse. The hammer follows your cursor, and every movement you make - climbing, hopping, vaulting - comes from how you swing it.
Is this the original game?
It is a browser remake of Bennett Foddy's 2017 game rather than his own build, made in Scratch and packaged to run on the web. The mountain, the pot and the hammer physics are the same idea; the original is sold on Steam and mobile.
Are there checkpoints?
No, and that is the point. Falling to the bottom of the mountain is always possible, no matter how far you have climbed.
Does it work on mobile?
It is built around a mouse, so a laptop or desktop is much easier. Touch dragging works but makes fine hammer control considerably harder.
