Granny Unblocked locks you in a house with an old woman who hears everything. You have five days to find a way out, and every dropped item, every sprint down a corridor and every squeaking floorboard tells her which room to check next.

What Is Granny?

Released in 2017 by the Swedish solo developer DVloper, Granny is the stalking-horror game that most of the genre copied afterwards. You wake up locked inside a boarded-up house, and the way out has to be assembled from parts hidden around it - keys, a hammer, cutting pliers, a screwdriver, a cogwheel, a master key.

The cruel part is that nothing sits in the same place twice. Item locations are shuffled every game, so a route that worked yesterday is useless today, and searching is exactly what makes noise. Get caught and you lose a day; lose the fifth day and the game is over.

How to Play Granny

Controls

• WASD - move, and hold it gently: running is the loudest thing you can do
• E - interact, open drawers, pick items up
• C - crouch and stand, for moving quietly and getting under furniture
• R - hide in a wardrobe or under a bed, and leave the hiding place again
• Space - throw whatever you are holding, F - place, remove or use an item

How a day works

Each day is one attempt. Search a few rooms, move what you find towards the exit, and get knocked out or survive until the day ends - then start again from the spawn point with whatever progress you made kept. Five days is the whole budget, so the game is really about learning the house faster than you lose attempts.

Sound Is the Real Enemy

• Dropped items clatter and bring her straight to the room.
• Bear traps and squeaky boards are placed exactly where you will be in a hurry - step over them once you know where they are.
• Running is audible from across the house; walking, and crouching in the open rooms, keeps a search quiet.
• Throwing something deliberately is the other half of that coin: a noise in the wrong room buys you thirty seconds in the right one.

Tips to Escape

• Search one room properly. Half-searching six rooms wastes a day; clearing one completely means you never open those drawers again.
• Carry items towards the exit. You can only hold one thing, so move each find closer to where it will be used rather than back and forth.
• Learn where she starts. Her first patrol is roughly the same each day - use those seconds on the rooms she leaves last.
• Hide before she is in the room. Getting into a wardrobe while she is already looking at you does nothing; the wardrobe has to be a decision, not a reflex.
• Use Practice mode first. The easier difficulties let you learn the layout without burning real days, and the layout is most of the game.
