Gun Mayhem 3 keeps the series' core knockback-to-eliminate format, shooting an opponent pushes them back rather than dealing direct damage, and falling off the arena is what actually ends their run, which rewards positioning near the center far more than raw shooting accuracy.

Because knockback stacks with repeated hits, chaining fast, weaker shots often knocks an opponent off the stage faster than waiting for a single powerful one to line up. Power-ups scattered through the arena are worth fighting for even at some risk, since a heavier weapon picked up mid-match can swing an even fight decisively. Gun Mayhem is the original entry this series builds its knockback-arena format on.
