Kick the Buddy 2
How to Play Kick the Buddy 2 ?
Some days you just need to hit something. Kick the Buddy 2 gives you a cheerful target for exactly that: a round orange ragdoll with a star on his chest, a bandage on his forehead and a gap-toothed grin that never quite goes away. He dangles from a rope at centre stage, and your only job is to make him regret being so smug.
The game opens on a title card that calls him the "Super Buddy", waving at you as if he has no idea what is coming. One tap on the green play button brings up a short instruction screen showing where you can hit him (head, body, arms and legs), and then you are dropped straight into the first scene.
Punching the Buddy
Click or tap anywhere on the Buddy and a fist lands where you pointed. Because he is a proper ragdoll, every hit sends him swinging on his rope, and where you strike changes how he moves. Hit his feet and his legs kick up; hit his head and he spins on the noose. Rapid clicks keep him bouncing like a punching bag, while slower, aimed hits let you choose which body part takes the next blow.
The damage builds up in a way that is oddly satisfying to watch. After a few dozen punches his eyes squeeze shut, a black eye appears, his pristine white gloves and red sneakers pick up stains, and the bandage on his head starts to look like it needs a friend. A green health bar labelled "BUDDY" floats above him and slowly drains toward empty, so you always know how close you are to a knockout.
Coins, Kills and New Rooms
Every successful hit pays you. A small "+1" pops up beside the health bar and your gold total at the upper left ticks up. Shiny gold coins also bounce out onto the floor; click them before they fade to bank them. Short on cash? The camera icon marked Free Coins x100 on the right side adds a hundred coins in one go.
Drain the health bar completely and the Kills counter in the top-right corner goes up by one. The Buddy comes back for another round with full health and a brand-new backdrop. The first scene is a colourful graffiti-covered alley with fire escapes, puddles and knocked-over trash cans. After the first knockout you move to a teal laboratory full of lockers, warning signs and tall tanks of red liquid. Seeing which room you land in next is half the fun of going for another KO.
The Side Menus
Down the left edge sit three trays: Weapons, Objects and Specials. Opening one slides a row of padlocked slots into view above the Buddy, with a Back button at the end. In this edition the slots stay locked, so the Buddy is strictly a hand-to-hand experience. That keeps the game simple and focused: no menus to manage, just you, your fists and a very patient ragdoll.
On the right you will find the quality-of-life switches:
- Sound On / Off – mutes the thuds, squeaks and background music.
- Blood On / Off – turn the red splatter off for a cleaner, more cartoonish version, handy if younger players are watching.
- Restart – resets the Buddy to full health if you want a fresh start.
Kick the Buddy 2 Controls: One Button Is Enough
Kick the Buddy 2 needs just one input, so it plays the same with a mouse, a laptop trackpad or a touchscreen:
- Click / tap the Buddy to punch the spot you clicked.
- Click gold coins on the floor to collect them.
- Use the right-hand buttons for sound, blood, restart and free coins.
A full knockout takes somewhere around a hundred hits, so a good rhythm helps. Alternate between his head and body to keep him swinging, and stop now and then to grab the coins that fall before they disappear.
Why Kick the Buddy 2 Works as a Stress Reliever
There is no timer, no score to beat and no way to lose. You can play for thirty seconds between classes or settle in and rack up a long streak of KOs. The Buddy's endless good mood makes the whole thing feel more silly than mean, and the bright cartoon art keeps it light. Open it after a frustrating test, throw punches for a minute, and you will probably close it feeling a little calmer.
