What Is Monkey Mart?

Released in November 2022 by TinyDobbins, Monkey Mart is an idle management game about running a shop single-handed until you can afford not to. There are no menus to fight and nothing to click: you walk to a crop and your monkey harvests it, walk to a shelf and he stocks it, stand by the till and he serves.

The trick is that the shop grows faster than you can run. New aisles unlock corn, eggs, milk, coffee, peanuts, wheat and cocoa, appliances turn those basics into far more valuable goods, and eventually the only way to keep every stand full is to stop doing the work yourself and hire monkeys who will.

Controls

• WASD or the arrow keys - walk; that is the entire control scheme
• Stand still at a station - harvesting, stocking and serving all happen automatically while you are there

The staff you can hire

• Cashier - works the register so the queue keeps paying while you are elsewhere.
• Assistant - harvests crops and restocks the shelves you keep running back to.
• Farmer - collects produce from the animals, which is the slowest job to do yourself.
• Chef - prepares the high-value items like popcorn, yoghurt and coffee.

Tips to Grow the Shop Faster

• Hire a cashier first. Every second nobody is on the till is money not collected - it pays for itself faster than any shelf upgrade.
• Upgrade carrying capacity early. More items per trip means fewer trips, and trips are the real bottleneck in the first hour.
• Open appliances, not just aisles. Turning corn into popcorn multiplies what the same crop is worth; a new raw product does not.
• Keep the front shelves full. Customers buy what they reach first, so stock the stands nearest the entrance before the ones at the back.
• Let it idle. Staff keep working while you are away, so closing the tab for a while and coming back to a full till is a legitimate strategy.
