What Is Moto X3M?

Moto X3M is a physics-based dirt bike platformer where each stage is scored from one to three stars based on your time. Crashing is barely a punishment - you respawn at the last checkpoint with a few seconds added - so the fastest route is usually the most reckless one. That trade-off is the whole game: ride carefully and you finish with one star, ride like a lunatic and you either three-star it or explode.

Flips are the other half. Rotating in mid-air shaves time off your total, so the best runs chain a somersault into every jump that has enough height for one, and land on the wheels rather than the rider.

How to Play Moto X3M

Controls

• Up arrow or W - accelerate
• Down arrow or S - brake and reverse
• Left / Right arrows or A / D - lean back and forward, and rotate in mid-air
• Phone or tablet - on-screen buttons for gas, brake and lean

Leaning is what separates a clean run from a ragdoll. Lean back on the way up a ramp to get the nose high, lean forward on the way down so the front wheel lands first, and use the same keys mid-air to line the bike up for the landing.

Tips to Get Three Stars

• Learn the level once, then stop braking. Three-star times assume you already know what is coming, so the first run is reconnaissance and the second is the real attempt.
• Flip on every safe jump. Each rotation takes time off your total, and a jump with height to spare is free seconds.
• Land on both wheels. A nose-first landing stops you dead even when you survive it - that lost momentum costs more than a crash sometimes.
• Treat crashes as a currency. A crash costs a few seconds; a slow, careful section costs more. If a hazard is faster to blast through than to time, blast through it.
• Keep the throttle on over gaps. Letting go mid-jump drops the nose and turns a clean landing into a face plant.
