A Farm Sim With Something in the Woods

Made by GY-GY Games, Pumpkin Panic mixes a small farming routine with survival horror. You play a boy with a pumpkin for a head, living on a fenced-in farm in the middle of a forest. The daily chores are what you would expect: work the field, draw water from the well, gather resources and catch fish. But the atmosphere does not stay calm for long. When things start to change, a terrifying creature comes looking for you, and the only thing that matters is getting to a hiding place in time.

Between scares you earn enough to buy new clothes for the pumpkin boy, upgrade the tools you work with and open up new parts of the farm. It is a strange, charming mix - bright hand-drawn 3D scenery on the surface, something much less friendly underneath.

Surviving the Farm

Learn your hiding spots early

Use the calm periods to walk the whole farm and remember where you can hide. When the monster turns up there is no time to go searching.

Watch the atmosphere, not just the clock

The game warns you before the creature arrives - the mood of the place shifts. The moment it does, drop whatever chore you are doing and move.

Upgrade tools before clothes

Better tools make every job quicker, which means less time exposed in the open field. Outfits are fun, but they can wait.
