Quake

Quake is the legendary 1996 first-person shooter from id Software, the studio behind Doom, running right in your browser. This is the original shareware release, which contains the first episode, Dimension of the Doomed, so you can play the famous opening levels without installing anything.

You fight through dark gothic castles and military bases full of grunts, rottweilers, ogres with chainsaws and grenade launchers, and the terrifying shambler. Collect weapons as you go - the shotgun, double-barrelled shotgun, nailgun, grenade launcher and rocket launcher - plus armour, health packs and power-ups such as the Quad Damage. Move with the arrow keys or WASD, aim with the mouse, fire with the left mouse button or Ctrl, jump with Space and switch weapons with the number keys. Levels hide secret areas behind shootable walls and switches, and finding them is half the fun.
