Who Is Lying? feeds clues one at a time rather than all at once, which means the earliest guesses are genuinely riskier than later ones, jumping to a conclusion on a vague first clue can lock in a wrong answer before the clearer details even arrive.

Because each clue narrows the field of possible answers rather than confirming one outright, holding off on a final guess until at least two or three clues have appeared tends to score more reliably than committing early for a speed bonus that isn't worth a wrong answer. Cross-referencing a clue against categories you already ruled out is often faster than starting the deduction over from scratch each round.
