Backrooms 2D
How to Play Backrooms 2D?
Stripping the Backrooms creepypasta down to a flat 2D view sounds like it should make the endless yellow corridors less scary, and Backrooms 2D proves the opposite: a side-scrolling perspective means you can only ever see what's directly ahead, never what's waiting just past the next doorframe.
Rooms are stitched together procedurally, so memorizing a layout from a previous run never quite works twice. Progress depends on covering ground methodically, backtracking into a corridor you've already cleared wastes time you don't have once an entity locks onto your position, while listening for audio cues before rounding a corner gives you a beat to change direction instead of walking straight into whatever's patrolling it. If the full 3D maze version of the legend interests you more, Backrooms runs the same premise as a first-person exploration horror game.
