Basketball REAL
How to Play Basketball REAL ?
Basketball REAL drops you onto a glossy indoor court in front of a sold-out arena and gives you one instruction in giant gold letters: Shoot! A cartoon hand traces an upward swipe from your player toward the hoop. Copy it, and the ball arcs toward the rim. That swipe is the heart of the game - and once you have it down, the training session opens up into a full career of team selection, upgrades and matches.
Training Comes First
The opening round is a short practice. A ring in the top-right corner shows your score and the word Training, and a ball counter tells you how many attempts you have left (four to start). The game walks you through shooting first, then passing - a "Pass!" prompt appears with a highlighted teammate and you swipe toward him instead of the basket. A Skip button up in the left corner lets returning players jump straight past the lesson.
Choose Your Team on the Map
After training, a stylised map fills the screen with the message "Select your team!". Each region holds a player portrait in a different jersey colour - blue, green, yellow, red, purple and more. Tap one to claim it. From then on, the map is your campaign board: a red banner marks your National team, a little arena icon marks your Home Town, and a glowing "VS" badge shows the next opponent you have to beat. A Total Score panel keeps track of your progress across the whole run.
Upgrade the Roster
Between games you manage five players, one for each classic position:
- Center
- Power Forward
- Small Forward
- Shooting Guard
- Point Guard
Every card has two stats with a plus button beside them: Dunk and 3point. Coins earned in matches (the counter sits above the roster cards) buy upgrades, and a bonus chest in the corner can top up your balance. Raising Dunk makes your big men far more reliable at the rim; raising 3point turns your guards into long-range threats. Where you spend first shapes how your team plays.
Inside a Match
Games are played on a full 3D court with ten players. A red shot clock counts down from 24 in the upper left, and the points you need appear in the ring opposite it. Whoever has the ball is yours to command, and every decision is a swipe:
- Swipe toward the hoop - shoot (length and direction matter)
- Swipe toward a teammate - pass
- Click or tap - choose options in menus
It all works with a mouse drag on a computer or a finger on a touchscreen.
Tips From the Bench
Do not waste the shot clock
Twenty-four seconds goes fast. If the defence closes your shooting lane, swipe a quick pass instead of forcing a contested shot.
Match the shot to the player
Upgraded shooters should take the threes; upgraded dunkers should drive. A low-rated three-pointer is mostly a gift to the other team.
Practice the swipe length
Short swipes fall short of the rim, huge swipes bang off the backboard. Training is the best place to find the middle.
Spread your upgrades early
One star in everyone's best stat beats five stars on a single player, at least until you reach the tougher opponents on the map.
How a Campaign Unfolds
Each win moves you across the map toward new regions, and every opponent's portrait wears its own jersey colours so you always know who you are facing. Early teams play loose defence and leave the paint open, which makes upgraded dunkers dominant. Later opponents close out on shooters and contest at the rim, so a balanced roster with at least two reliable three-point threats becomes much more valuable as the campaign goes on.
Look and Feel
The arena is surprisingly detailed: a crowd in suits and jerseys filling every tier, LED boards running round the balcony, a polished wooden floor with teal paint in the key and a padded red stanchion behind the hoop. Players move with smooth animations and the camera tilts dynamically to follow passes and drives.
Frequently Wondered
Can I choose a different team later?
The map lets you see every region; beat opponents to work your way across it.
What do coins do?
They upgrade Dunk and 3point ratings for your five starters - the main way to get stronger.
Is it hard?
The swipe takes a few minutes to learn. After that it is all about decision making under the shot clock - when to pass, when to drive and when your shooter is open enough to let it fly from deep.
