BitLife
How to Play BitLife ?
Candywriter's BitLife reduces an entire human life to a scrollable list of yes/no choices, and it's that simplicity that made it a breakout hit: there's no character model or dialogue tree, just text describing what happened and a button for what you'd like to try next.
Stats you barely glance at early on, happiness, health, smarts, looks, quietly gate which career and relationship options even appear later, so a childhood spent ignoring school grades can lock you out of the career path you wanted at 25. The game's dark comedy comes from playing it completely straight: robbing a bank or starting a cult are just menu options sitting next to getting a haircut, and the game reports the consequences of either with the same flat tone. Eugene's Life is a completely different kind of game worth a look too, a clay-physics platformer if you want a break from choice-menu simulation entirely.
