Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump flips the usual platformer gravity: instead of falling being the constant threat, the Doodler bounces upward automatically off every platform, and the actual skill is steering left and right to land on the next one before gravity pulls you back down past the bottom of the screen.

Because the camera only ever scrolls upward, there's no room to backtrack for a missed platform, which makes overcommitting toward a distant platform riskier than aiming for a closer, more certain one, especially once monsters and moving platforms start appearing in the mix. Springs and jetpacks are worth angling toward deliberately rather than treating as a bonus, since a well-timed power-up can skip several risky jumps' worth of platforming in one clean boost. Crossy Road runs a similarly endless, high-score-chasing format if the vertical climb here isn't quite your pace.
