Geometry Dash
How to Play Geometry Dash ?
Geometry Dash Unblocked is a rhythm platformer with one input and no mercy. Your cube runs forward on its own and you press a single button to jump - but the spikes, saws and portals are placed on the beat of the soundtrack, so the level is really a song you have to play correctly from start to finish.
What Is Geometry Dash?
Released in 2013 by RobTop Games, Geometry Dash turned a very old idea - the auto-running platformer - into a music game. Every hazard lines up with the track, so once a level clicks you stop reacting to what you see and start playing along to what you hear. There are no lives and no checkpoints in a normal attempt: one touch on a spike and you go back to the very beginning, which is exactly why finishing a level feels like it does.
Nothing installs and no account is needed. The game runs on this page rather than an external portal, so it opens on the school and office networks that filter most game sites.
How to Play Geometry Dash
Controls
- Space, Up arrow, W or left click - jump; they all do the same thing
- Hold the button - keep jumping automatically, or keep climbing in the flying forms
- Phone or tablet - tap anywhere on the screen
The forms change what your button does
Passing through a portal swaps your icon into a different form, and each one answers the same button differently. This is the part that catches new players out:
- Cube - a normal jump; holding makes you jump again the moment you land.
- Ship - hold to rise, release to fall. It is a flappy-style balancing act, not a jump.
- Ball - each press flips gravity, so you switch between floor and ceiling.
- UFO - every press is a small hop in mid-air; taps, not holds.
- Wave - hold to go diagonally up, release to go diagonally down, through the tightest corridors in the game.
- Robot - the longer you hold, the higher the jump.
- Spider - teleports instantly between floor and ceiling instead of arcing.
Yellow rings jump you when you press inside them, blue rings and pads flip your gravity, and speed portals make everything arrive sooner. Difficulty across the official levels runs from Easy all the way up to Demon, and the jump between those two ends is enormous.
Tips to Beat a Level
- Learn the song, not the screen. Most jumps land on a beat. Players who hum the track clear sections they cannot clear while staring at the spikes.
- Use practice mode first. The green checkpoints let you drill the one section that keeps killing you instead of replaying the easy first thirty seconds over and over.
- Tap, do not mash. In the ship and wave, a held button is a crash; short taps keep you level in narrow corridors.
- Watch the portal, not the gap. Deaths in this game usually come one second after a form change, because the button you just used means something new.
- Take breaks. Timing degrades fast with frustration, and a level you have failed forty times often falls on the second attempt the next day.

Geometry Dash FAQ
Is Geometry Dash free to play here?
Yes. The version on this page runs free in your browser - nothing to buy, download or sign up for.
Can I play Geometry Dash at school or on a Chromebook?
Geometry Dash unblocked is hosted here instead of on a separate games portal, so it usually loads on school and work networks and runs fine in Chrome on a Chromebook. Check your own school or company rules first.
What are the controls?
One button for everything: space, the up arrow, W or a left click, and a tap on mobile. What that button does depends on the form you are in - jump as the cube, rise as the ship, flip gravity as the ball.
Why is Geometry Dash so hard?
Because there is no checkpoint in a normal attempt and the timing windows are tight enough that you have to memorise a level rather than read it. The difficulty is in repetition, not in complicated controls.
What is practice mode?
A mode that lets you place green checkpoints as you go, so a death sends you back a few seconds instead of to the start. It is the fastest way to learn a section you keep failing.
Who made Geometry Dash?
Swedish developer Robert Topala, under the name RobTop Games. The first version launched in August 2013 and it has been updated with new forms and levels ever since.
