Jetpack Adventure

Jetpack Adventure keeps its vertical thrust held-to-rise, released-to-fall control scheme simple, but builds difficulty out of how tightly spaced obstacles get, which means smooth, continuous altitude control matters far more than tapping the thrust on and off reactively.

Holding a middle altitude rather than hugging the top or bottom of the screen tends to leave more room to react to obstacles appearing from either direction, since a runner already at the ceiling or floor has nowhere left to dodge toward. Coins are worth collecting along a safe path rather than detouring into a risky one, since the upgrades they fund matter less than simply surviving long enough to use them. Jetpack Joyride runs the genre-defining version of this same jetpack-dodging endless runner format.
