Rainbow Obby
How to Play Rainbow Obby ?
Rainbow Obby greets you with a giant rainbow arching over a sky-blue menu and a row of big illustrated cards under the words Choose game mode! Each card is a completely different obstacle course starring the same blocky hero with a yellow head, red checked shirt and blue jeans. Scroll the row sideways and you find towers, slime, bicycles, carts, boats, planes, a cat, a rolling ball and a troll grinning behind a giant slapping hand. Tap a card and the hero spawns on the start pad of a brand-new parkour map.
Thirteen Obbies Under One Rainbow
"Obby" is short for obstacle course, a genre made famous by blocky sandbox games: a long, floating path of platforms, gaps, moving pieces and hazards where one wrong step means falling into the void. Rainbow Obby collects a whole set of them, and every mode twists the formula with a different vehicle or gimmick:
- Classic - pure jumping across floating grass blocks, trees and checkered platforms.
- ASMR - run along giant keyboard keys and colourful letter tiles, earning speed as you press through stages.
- Tower Obby - the newest map, a vertical climb where every floor is a new trap.
- Slime Tower - sticky green jelly platforms and alphabet blocks, with three hearts to survive on.
- Troll - courses built to mess with you: fake floors and surprise pushes from that giant hand.
- Cat - play through a house-sized world from an animal's point of view.
- Bike, Car and Cart - ride rather than run, steering down narrow roads and rails.
- Plane - fly a winged ride along a sky route full of rings and hazards.
- Ladder - grassy cliffs and towering walls where climbing ladders is the only way up.
- River - paddle a little orange boat down a forest river.
- Ball - roll as a yellow cube-ball along a wavy purple-and-white track.
Reading the HUD
Most courses share the same interface. A long bar across the top shows your progress, from the little house icon on the left to the chequered flag at the finish, with a percentage in the middle. On the right you will see a red flag with your current checkpoint number, a gold coin counter and an hourglass timer that keeps running from the moment you spawn. Buttons down the left edge open the menu (Esc), the shop (M) and the respawn shortcut (R).
Fall off and the screen tints red with a skull in the centre. Respawn puts you back at your last checkpoint; Skip moves you past the section that keeps beating you.
Controls
- W, A, S, D - run, or steer when you are on a vehicle
- Space - jump
- Mouse - rotate the camera
- R - respawn at the last checkpoint
- M - open the shop
- Esc - menu and settings
The Cart Obby Hub
Some modes go further than a single course. Cart Obby starts in a lobby that is a little world of its own: a "Welcome to Cart Obby!" sign, a Cart Store stocked with rides shaped like a stone-age log, a cat and a cupcake, power-ups like a jetpack and dynamite, and glowing portals that lead to later chapters of the track. Earning coins on the rails is how you unlock the sillier carts.
Becoming a Better Obby Runner
Look before you leap
Rotate the camera with the mouse to see where the next platform actually is. Many falls happen because the default view hides the landing spot.
Treat checkpoints as goals
Each flag you touch saves your place. On long, nasty sections, aim for the next flag rather than the finish line - small wins add up.
Short taps on vehicles
On the bike, in the car and especially in the boat, tiny steering corrections work far better than holding a direction. Oversteering is the number one way to end up in the water.
Expect betrayal in Troll mode
If a platform looks too convenient, it probably is. Jump onto it at the very edge so you have time to react when it drops.
Switch modes when frustrated
Thirteen maps means you never have to grind one obstacle for an hour. Bounce to River or Ball for something relaxed, then come back.
Bright, Simple, Endless
The art style is deliberately toy-like: chunky characters, saturated colours, soft clouds and a cheerful soundtrack. Each mode has its own palette - candy-striped arches in ASMR, jelly greens in Slime Tower, warm desert reds on the plane route - so jumping between them feels like visiting different theme parks. Because every map is cut into checkpoints, it also works well in short sessions: clear a few flags, come back later and pick up exactly where you were.
Rainbow Obby Questions
Which mode should I start with?
Classic. It teaches jumping, checkpoints and the camera without any vehicle to worry about.
What do coins buy?
Cosmetic items and rides in each mode's shop, such as the novelty carts in Cart Obby.
Is the timer important?
Only if you want it to be. It is there for players who like to replay a map and beat their own time.
Hungry for more parkour? Fun Obby is another blocky obstacle marathon, Stickman Climb 3D is all about vertical climbing, and Eggy Car turns careful driving into a balancing act.
