Short Life 2 uses ragdoll physics for its deaths specifically, spikes, blades, and mines don't just end a run cleanly, they send your character flopping and flying in a way that turns each failure into its own small, darkly comic spectacle rather than a quiet reset.

Because star collection rewards clean survival rather than just reaching the end, treating each hazard cluster as its own mini-puzzle worth solving slowly tends to earn more stars than rushing through and accepting a few hits along the way. Unlocked characters are purely cosmetic, so picking one for the spectacle of their ragdoll death is a completely valid reason to switch. Happy Wheels runs a similar dark-humor obstacle course format with mismatched vehicles instead of pure platforming.
