Escape Road City 2 is the entry where the water stopped being a wall. Drive into the harbour and you swim out, climb onto a speedboat, and carry the chase into open sea - which is also where the police bring gunboats.

What Is Escape Road City 2?

Escape Road City 2 is AZ Games' follow-up to Escape Road City, released in late 2025. The format is the series standard - rob a bank, drive, survive - but the city is tighter, the camera is closer, and the streets are far more crowded than in any earlier game, so everything happens faster than you expect.

What makes it the biggest entry is how little your own garage matters. You can leave any vehicle and take almost anything you can reach: a police cruiser, a SWAT truck, a delivery van, a military off-roader, or the Formula One car sitting on the start line at the racetrack. Your starting car is just whatever survives the first minute.

How to Play Escape Road City 2

Controls

• A / D or left / right arrow - steer; there is no accelerator, the car drives itself forward
• S or down arrow - brake and reverse
• Space - get out of the vehicle, enter a nearby one, or open the parachute while you are in the air
• A line extends from your character on foot showing which vehicle you are about to take - check it is pointing at the right one

Cash piles are worth $10 each and a slot machine spin costs $500, so the vehicles in your permanent collection are paid for by distance survived rather than by any one lucky pickup. Cars run through Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary, with the Legendary ones carrying their own perks.

The Water Changes Everything

• Swimming. Crash into the sea and you get out and swim instead of dying - but the stamina bar drains fast and barely recovers, so treat it as a route, not a hiding place.
• Stealable boats. Speedboats, SWAT patrol boats and enormous container ships that are almost unkillable and painfully slow.
• Gunboats. At high wanted levels the military brings boats with mounted turrets - take one and your character works the gun while you drive.
• Planes and parachutes. Find a plane and you can take the chase into the sky, then step out and drift down somewhere the police are not.

Power-Ups, Mines and the Army Base

• Follow the arrows. Arrows stretching out from your vehicle point at power-ups - shields, health, speed - and at hidden special vehicles you cannot win from the slot machine.
• Do not chase what has no arrow. The military drops mines that look a lot like pickups; power-ups glow and are signposted, mines sit on the ground unlit.
• The gates marked army only. There is a restricted military area you can only open while driving a military vehicle, and there is a drivable tank parked inside it.
• Ten wanted stars. That is the cap, and from about eight onwards tanks, bombing runs, armed gunboats and officers on foot all come at once.

Tips to Survive Longer

• Bail at the first smoke. Once your ride glows and smokes it is finished; jumping out and taking a boring slow car beats exploding in a fast one.
• Take the small car. SWAT trucks and tanks cannot follow a compact body through alleys and gaps between buildings - manoeuvrability outlives horsepower here.
• Use water as a reset. Dropping into the sea breaks a land pursuit completely, as long as you have a boat or a shoreline picked out before you jump.
• Steal a military vehicle early at high stars. It is the only key to the army base, and the tank inside outclasses everything hunting you.
• Keep the turret pointed backwards. On a gunboat you control the gun as well as the throttle, and thinning the boats behind you is usually better than trying to outrun them.
