Escape Road is a top-down getaway driving game built in Unity by AZ Games and released in July 2025. Your car pulls away by itself and holds a steady speed, so the game is never really about the throttle - it is about the line you pick through a city that keeps throwing buildings, parked traffic and blind junctions at you while the sirens close in from behind.

There is no finish line and no level to clear. Every run is a survival timer: stay free for longer, collect more cash along the way, and spend it in the garage on a quicker car for the next attempt. The pressure scales with you, so the further you get, the more units the city commits to stopping you.

Controls

• Left / Right arrow or A / D - steer; this is the only input most runs need
• Up arrow or W - accelerate past the automatic cruising speed
• Down arrow or S - brake and reverse, which matters when a roadblock drops you into a dead end

Hitting a wall, a building or a civilian car stops you dead, and the instant you stop moving the patrol cars swarm the vehicle and the run is over. Driving into water ends it just as quickly - the canals are a boundary, not an obstacle you can bounce off.

What the City Sends After You

• Patrol cars - they tail you constantly and try to pin you against scenery rather than ram you head-on.
• Armoured trucks - slower to turn but heavy enough that a single contact ends the chase.
• Helicopters - they start circling once you have survived a while, which keeps the pursuit locked on even when you break line of sight.
• Roadblocks - they appear without warning, often just past a corner you cannot see around.
• Cash pickups - scattered through the streets and the only way to afford anything in the garage.

Tips to Stay Free Longer

• Keep turning. A straight run gives two patrol cars time to pull level on both sides; a car that changes direction every few seconds never gives them the geometry to box you in.
• Read traffic a few lengths ahead. Clipping a slow civilian car at pursuit speed ends a run exactly as fast as being caught does, and it is the more common way to die.
• Choose open ground over shortcuts. Narrow gaps between buildings look like an escape and are usually where a roadblock or a dead end is waiting.
• Only take cash that is already on your line. Swerving for a pickup with three cars behind you costs more than the pickup is worth.
• Faster is not automatically better. The later cars in the garage carry more speed but need far more room to turn, so a quick car in tight streets can be harder to survive with than the starter.
